Son of famous South African Afrikaans comedy legend Tolla van der Merwe, Wicus van der Merwe has developed his talents all on his own, as a singer / songwriter. Wicus went to the Army, University and then started working a couple of odd jobs. It was only in December 2004 that Wicus was approached by Select Music to record a couple of CD's with them. Some of Wicus's hit songs include : "Hie' Komme Ding", "Die Boesmanland Se Hanetjie Keurspel: Die Hanetjie / Boesmanland" and "Rebecca".
