Originally from
Parys in the Free State, Jak de Priester has always had a passion
for performing in front of people. From reading poetry to singing
songs, Jak has done it all. After studying languages at the University
of Pretoria, Jak went to go work in London where he teaches German and
French to students. He wrote his first play "“Underground" in Holland
and performed it at the 2002 KKNK. Later that year he won the ATKV
Crescendo competition and decided to record his first CD “Sally Williams
Nougat”. His song with the same title was performed at the "Huisgenoot
Skouspel" and the whole South Africa found a place in their hearts for
Jak de Priester.
