The second youngest of twelve children, Louw Wessels "Alan Ladd" was born in 1966 in Lusaka,Zambia. After immigrating to South Africa in 1976, the name "Alan Ladd" was born after his Producer at that time suggested that the Afrikaans name "Louw Wessels" does not represent the music style.  Since then Alan has made a big name for himself singing Country music like no other South African musician.  In 2006 Alan turned to gospel music where he achieved even more success.
