Not everyone
is going the Idols instant-celebrity route to gain a foothold in the competitive
South African music industry. Sometimes being in the right place at the
right time can be equally effective in launching a music career. It was
in 2003 at a concert where Esti was spotted by Lyndi Gillespie from Mandoza's
management company. In the debut 12-track album, Esti takes an unconventional
– bordering on risky, some might say – approach with the blending of musical
genres like dance, R&B and African traditional. Esti was always greatful
for the opportunities given to her but decided to follow her heart and
express her beliefs in her latest cd "Geen Geheim" which represents sounds
to which modern old and young can listen to and have faith. Esti's music
is good to listen to and also restores ones faith in the days of doubt.
