Daughter
of the late Reggae star Lucky Dube Bongi Dube is the new fresh-voiced singing
diva to emerge on the Durban house scene and her debut album 'NGIFUNA WENA
is nothing short of a dance-floor cracker! With slowed up, sexy, thumping
beats, sultry soaring vocals, catchy melodies and top production, the album
will place Bongi firmly on the dance world's map.
Her
long-time production friend Bheki Dlamini has produced all of Bongi's work
for her. Bheki has had great success for his production work with DJ Bongz
from the EMI dance stable and it was through this channel that he originally
met Bongi, whilst they were searching for a vocalist to lend her voice
to a track. The result was a friend introducing Bongi and taking her through
to the studio. Bongi recorded the track "You Can Stay" for DJ Bongz and
his compilation. "You Can Stay" became a huge dance floor hit, selling
multi-platinum units and establishing her voice as one to listen out for.
