Niekie
van den Berg started his broadcasting career in June 1982 on what was previously
called the "Afrikaanse Radio Diens". After time spent in general broadcasting,
he moved to television as director of an actuality programme, Verslag.
He also worked as presenter of the TV journal programme Uit en Tuis, along
with Johlene du Plessis. In 1991 he returned to radio as presenter of Se
Wie?; one of Radio Sonder Grense’s (Radio Without Borders) most popular
programmes. He then started working on Wat Is Die Prokureur? every Monday
morning. As a cricket and rugby commentator, he has several tests under
his belt. Niekie has won three Artes awards, as well as Academic prizes
for radio. |
